Lubricant for planetary winch gearbox

I have a planetary winch as part of a Swinglift crane I picked up.

What would be the most suitable grease for lubricating the gearbox of this?

I was thinking of CV joint grease, but other suggestions welcomed.

What do the 4 x 4 people use?

Need a bit more info on the box, but probably an oil like EP 240 would be more suitable than a grease.

Thanks for the reply. It's identical to the generic 2000lb/907kg winches sold by everyone, just it has the free spool bit removed. I don't think the gearbox is oil-tight nor the bearing on the end of the motor. When I stripped it, it had a black grease in, hence my thought of CV joint stuff.
