Is it possible to buy steel with louvres pre cut into it?

do you mean like the vented areas on machine panels and welder?

im sure ive seen it advertised somewhere in specific sizes but cant seem to find it now

If you're stuck, a mate of mine has just picked up a nice flypress, complete with a huge selection of tooling, including louvring tools, the lucky so and so.

i have been trying to think of a way to make them without a press, haven't come up with anything that gives the save uniform louvre every time though

I always make up a plate with pinholes, like a pegboard for this kind of job. Knock one out, move the pegs to the next position then shift the plate. Easy as pie if you have a mill or a jig borer.
