I've got this thing called Dupuytren's contracture, and I rekon it's work related, power tools ,chainsaw, lifting and carrying .
I first noticed 10 or more years ago when I still lived in the UK ,I went to the GP a group practice and the Doctor I saw did'nt know what it was, at that time it just looked like calluses on my hands left and right ...it's been like that for years so I just ignored it no pain just a thickening of the skin on my palm ..
A few weeks ago it seemed to have got going again on me left hand so now I can't get my hand totaly flat on a table top ...
My partner looked up the conditon on the wonder web, and she has a treatment programme sorted includeing vitamine E...
It's more common in blue eyed people ....jeff

Dupuytren's contracture

Next door neighbour had operations on both his hands for this last year, I drove him down to the hospital as he could not straighten his fingers to drive the car it had got so bad. They open the skin and scrape the tendons apparently. It was hereditary in his case.
