Loosing coolant.

that's what happens to that brittle plastic! It must still have some coolant in it, if so you will be ok to move it quickly

Providing the drive is no longer than 10km, yes that will be OK.

I drained all the coolant out.

Maybe i will fill with deionized water.

I filled mine with tap water last week when my temp sensor decided to part from the pipe it was ok to get me home with a cable tie

Thanks for your help guys, she is parked up on the road now. Will pick up the new part tomorrow and get it sorted. How about 10nm for the bolts holding it on? The plastic thermostat housing is also 10nm.

yes 10nm sounds about right normally I just do it by feel mate u can kind of feel when u start crushing the O ring finger tight and a little nip up is more than enough if u under do it and it leaks u can always nip it up a wee bit more

Hi, That was an attempt at humour. 6 miles is too far but engines are a lot more tolerant than some people think and the OP was worried about starting it up at all.

The alhambra takes ages to get up to temp. Most weeks it will never get to 90º as its only used for short trips.

All sorted and changed the oil and oil filter. Coolant level did drop when hot but bounced back to max when i removed the reservoir cap .

Think next oil change i will drop the sump as i think its leaking a bit.

check the oil pick up when u drop the sump too
