Hello forum, hope you can help me out again.
I bought a wolfmig 140x a couple of years ago. Never used a mig welder before or any other since. My other posts on here will show you what i've been doing with it. Anyway ... I'm sure my technique is still terrible but I can't help feeling like (having watched quite a few youtube welding vids) that maybe the welder is letting me down a bit as well (bad workman etc haha). I'm hoping for 'better' if I upgrade a bit. Not sure really what 'better' means, maybe a bit more more control of the power, maybe a better manufacturer gives generally better results?
Pretty limited budget if i'm honest so I'm looking for a good second hand make (please name me some). Only needs to weld up to 4 or 5 mm thick, but I'm hoping for quality. Guess my budget is about £200 within reason.
What should I be looking for? Is it going to be a noticeable improvement on what i've got ? (which works 'ok') Should I bother ? Am I going to find anything for that sort of budget ? Anyone on here looking to move one on to a new home?
Thanks
John
