Hi there i am looking to bye a bran new plasma cutter,but am wanting a 3 phase 415 volt one this time round with a built in compresser......any sugestions guys....Also what would be the maximum thickness of a 415 cutter and would it be possible to have at least 20 meters of cable( for the cutting end i might ad) thanks in advance guys..paul.

Be warned, if you fancy one have a good go with it first, make sure the compressor is man enough for the job. The Goodwins we sold, admittedly a good ten years ago or more, struggled. They didn't have a receiver tank for obvious reasons of compactness, and they were always playing catch-up.

OK so made a decision today i am going to get a separet compresser to the cutter,,,so the question is what is the best 415 plasma out there.....?????????

Hypertherm have a very good name - we have one at work which has been very reliable and does everything it says it should.
I don't get to play with it, so can't comment on how easy it is to use but no doubt someone with hands-on will be along in a bit.

Hypertherm gets my vote for the bigger machines....but stick with genuine consumables, they seem to last longer.

But 75mm is pretty thick for a plasma....
That sort of thickness i prefer oxy fuel, personally.

Beware though, extraction would be beneficial, the big machines can be quite dusty and fumey.

I have to wonder, do you really need to cut 75mm!!??

another vote for hyper therm, mines a largish machine, I think the same as Hitch's actualy but 75mm thats a hell of a machine... even with the hypertherm I only tend to cut up to 3/4" then go to gas cutting, the consumables are quick to burn out and as said there very fumey....

A decent gas set up, profiler or just PUG would be better surely...
