The cleat system mentioned by Danzac would have been a great solution if only available in 45 Deg angle form.
As it is I think I’m going to pinch a bit of everybody’s suggestions firstly from Bob with the angled plates, combining them with Jonser or Mikes suggestions & then possibly incorporating mtt.tr suggestion of housing the joint. This is what I’ve come up with, some might say a bit OTT but I do tend to subscribe to the belt & braces, hold up the Titanic school. RonA
