looking for car , are toyota urban cruiser any good?

Ok, looking for my brother , 75, and his rav 4 has passed mot but getting crusty , its an 01 , so have been looking at the toyota urban cruiser as a update , probably go up to £3k, must be auto what ever he gets due to hip . are these any good or other reconmendations please , looking at the cruiser as its a tad smaller than rav 4 , but still has 4wd and is more upright/easy to get into , cant use low slung stuff .
all and any advice appreciated , limited budget but thats life. cheers

I have an electric seat that rises & falls and slides forwards & back using a corded keypad , to overcome my problems of spinal injuries , low vehicles and needing to sit bolt up right when driving my automatic .
Could that be a solution for a different vehicle with electric engaged 4 Wheel drive ? Thinking of an older PHEV 4 whl drive Outlander here or are they still too expensive ?

thats the question , whats good for reiability , auto and not too big , mmaybes skoda yeti or similar , either way need to find something he is comfortable with, loves his rav , just cant find newer ,auto, with less than 120k on it , which would be ok if one could be found with dealer service history . as ever trying its ain to finding a fiver , genuine , for £4 .10shillings .

here in South Wales .... I happened to find a decent retired garage owner who sold up and made a tidy profit .

Roll on a few years after his retirement & he's bored but still a very fit 65 yr old guy . . So at his wife suggestion whilst they were on yet another long cruise which he found enough to bore him to tears she suggested that he keep and eye/ear open amongst other dealers for older but good quality garaged cars . Get them fully checked over and spend a few bob getting them in very good order then sell them to fund other things they would like to do ..

I helped our single Ukrainian refugee gal obtain a small Mazda off him that was 12 yr old , with FSH and only two owners both of which had died . I think there was only 24 K on the clock and no sign of rust or wear .
That was 18 months ago , she moved in with a guy 8 months ago , speaking to her at Crimbo she has stuck 30 k more on it.

We paid £1300 .. Dave the garagemen said he gets a dozen or so old well looked after cars like this each year .

Is it worth looking locally for really good old cars and entering into conversation about sourcing what you want ?

I too would suggest a Skoda Yeti with the superb DSG gearbox.

A mate was a pure landy fan, always drove them. But he changed from a Discovery to a 4wd Yeti, which really surprised me.

He said it was much nicer to drive, more comfortable, a lot easier on fuel, cheaper to run, easier to maintain and on the right tyres nearly as capable off road!

They are available in automatic.
The DSG is an auto gearbox that also has paddle shift and behaves like a manual if you want. But if you put it in sport mode it shifts gears better than any manual.

Mazda's are a very vanilla car, boring and nondescript. They are also extremely reliable and not extortionately priced. I like them as a brand and I have had a good few over the years.

Watching Scotish car clan and others on youtube it seems Mazda make great petrol cars but their diesels aren't so good. My mate has a Yeti, egr valve was replaced last year and now it off the road awaiting a new turbo!

if he has anything similar but must be auto , please let me know , I have no problem doing the mileage to ollect decent stuff, his rav 4 I found in dover !cheers

Yes. I need to swap my yeti for an auto. Also need to get rid of SWMBO manual yeti . Both brilliant cars . Both less than 35000 miles on clock.
