Looking for a saddle clamp.

Just one needed or two would be good in this shape. I can't find anything similar apart from someone wanting £50!

A half clamp will not suffice, this is to fasten a battery retaining rod to the fibreglass engine bay. Suggestions?

open up a p clip ,,, job done , and available in stainless with nice rubber inserts

Tack a bit of 6mm rod to a block of solid the same width as the clip. Tap it between two blocks spaced apart slightly, or even between vice jaws.
Trim to size and drill holes.

Nice easy little number.

Sorted, thanks to an assortment of galvanised angle brackets from Aldi!

I am less impressed with the rods which are seriously under diameter. I tried to extend the thread down and made very shallow cuts as a result. I will have to revisit that.

1/4” is shown twice, at different prices, on that ad. 0.35mm may not be important for the application, mind. Typical, these days where close enough is close enough for chinese imports.

A customer's SE5a that I have had too long. It was going to be a total restoration but I have run out of energy for it. He has agreed to have it back running and roadworthy, but even that will be a struggle.

Original threaded length was rolled. However even that was a slack fit for an M6 nut and should have alerted me. When I ran the die down it, it wouldn't come back up without help because there was no crest to the thread! Temporary bodge for appearance was a pair of Nylocs.

mechanical bits can be fixed cheaply/or easily,
a respray will be the value of the car,

£4k would be giving it away. Depending on its condition, between £5k and £8k I would say.
