have you already tried welding with what you have on the battery bank and also its amperage pull on it ?I currently have an old Clarke gasless mig which has seen better days. It is also quite large so I am looking for a replacement.
This will be for occasional use on my Narrowboat. It will only be used for small jobs, welding brackets, rings, etc.
I am pretty sure most things I will be welding will be mild steel. So being able to weld other metals would be a bonus, not a necessity. Ideally it will also be one that can run well on lower amps.
I don't mind gasless or gas if small bottles can be used, but size is a main priority. I also don't mind tig, mig, arc etc. Budget is around £400, but would prefer to spend less.
Thanks
Thickness wise, I'd guess between 5-10mm on average. Think L bracket, onto steel box section kind of jobs.
i think you have a good chance of blowing your inverter due to the amperage pull the welder will be usingThanks for the replies everyone.
Power will be supplied by a 3000w (6000w peak) 240v 13amp inverter and a large battery bank.
A bonus would be if I could use my Ecoflow Delta 2 for small jobs. This has 1800w output, with a 2700 surge and a 1024 Wh capacity.
I'll check out all these recommendations, as it does look like a mini inverter welder is exactly what I need.
Kiss goodbye to that inverter. Thanks for the replies everyone.
