Many but my worst has to be a vw type2 bay window camper I bought my gf as a fun "lets do this together" project back when cheap project campers were still a thing & while living not far from vw heritage and so in the early years it got lots of their new panels but work and new houses and kids arrived and suddenly its 25+ years later. It was sitting at the old house for years but this year after finding someone had tried to steal it I finally rescued it and brought it here to do but on the ramp underneath it, it now really needs lots of repair work on the chassis, although we put a fuel tank on it and ran it up and drove it round the yard and the engine is still very lovely, so still worth saving, but only after some other stuff is finished because it needs to go on the rotisserie and my cnc plasma table project is finished to cut repair sections out...
I still like it, maybe now both my kids are at uni I'll get to finish some more stuff.

used to be my daily driver but took it off the road to fix up as it needed a lot of welding hence why i bought a welder and joined this forum!
will crack on with it some day....

If you lock yourself out, long screwdrivers, lift external door handle, pop internal knob.

My Guzzi T3, I took it off the road for a cosmetic refurb about 25 years ago, had the frame powder coated about 6 years ago so there is progress being made but at a glacial pace. As my teachers used to say " must try harder". Then there's the Churchill Cub mk3 lathe, bought in a fit of enthusiasm only to still be sitting 4 years later, must move it on.
Unfinished projects - where to start .... ?
A LHD 1967 Panhard 24BT, bought from the French owner in London with a failed clutch in 1974, lost top gear dashing to catch a plane then over-revved and stripped the fibre cam gear in 1975, been sitting ever since, which must be 50 years....

In 1987 myself & a few mates & my other half rescued a vintage launch from the top of Benfleet creek she had been derelict for over 40 years & was sunk on death row. Built by Sam Saunders company in 1904-5 she is a rare survivor of her type & may have been a racer originally.
She sat for ten years before i worked out how to rebuild her then progressed in fits & starts. You know how it is, Time & no money or Money & no time, other projects came & went but i have finally got my **** into gear again!
Original engine beds are back in temporarily so i can pattern for the frames & floors. Lods of interesting bits to come over the next few months.
Ist pic is of us on the way to the slipway, A polytarp wrapped round her keeping the sea out, Wendy my other half steering & me & Mick on the pump!
Hauled out for the first time in 40 years, those in the bar taking bets as to if she would break in two, (she didnt)
And last week, Perfection cant be rushed!

a kango hammer i bought as a non runner 50 years ago and took to bits and left in a bag

Bought an I dian Scout over 40 years ago….found the engine in one of my moving crates…

My longest started rather than theoretical project is to build a pointless battle station style PC setup, the type depicted as being used by hackers in movies
I have all the gear, including 6 30" 16:10 4k monitors, 2 27" ultra wide monitors to go vertically either side of the 6. A substantial 3x2 monitor mount that can support 100kg+ (rescued from a skip!) and suitable powerful pc with twin 2060 GPUs (4 dp ports each) I also have a 12 way pdu with a 16a commando plug on it
I've tested it once, upgraded the monitors several times but never actually set it up
May have to give it a go now the garden office is empty

10 years to fit the heated towel rail in my bathroom, all kinds of people used to take the pee about it.my bathroom, 7 years unfinished

Bought my mazda on honeymoon in 2010 and it’s still in a garage. I’ve been toying recently with contracting out the main body work (chassis) to kick start the Resto. Also have my dad’s piatti scooter (mentioned on another thread) that has moved with us as long as I can remember and with him before me … so I’m guessing that is a 60+ year project !
