Trying to work out when I bought the bike that I still have, unfinished.
I think I was 19. I'm 47 now.
Should probably get around to it sometime or other.
edit: minor mitigating circumstances - I was in a car crash about 6 months after purchase. Ventilator, brain damage, not knowing what year it was or how old I was etc. Apparently I was in hospital for weeks (not that I remember it!)
So, yeah, the motorcycle project kind of got side tracked. For a while...

I realize I bought our 101 fc a couple of years later at 21.
That has been, to an extent, "finished" at points, but it's far from it's latest revision of "finished" currently!

It just hasnt had any significant progress recently.
It was done as a single man camper. Then I got a partner. Then a couple of hounds. Then the hounds and a child... And it's been, pretty much, parked up since her birth - she is 7 tomorrow!
So, it's a paint peeling mess at the moment. I can normally find some photos online but I'm just on the awkward interface of my phone at present, but in sure there must be at least one on this forum.
Still looking on FB etc for some 35x12.5x15r rubber for the rims I picked up off @8ob last Christmas and trying to talk a farmer friend into it taking up residence in one of his barns for it's next "iteration", but neither of those things has happened yet.
So, unlike the motorcycle, it is still moving forward, but at a snails pace.

Coot Atv stripped derusted needs new floor 15 years
Chevy CUCV pickup with hiab spread around workshop/garden 12 years
Various bits of small plant in bits etc
I need to retire might finish before I expire

Age is probably relevant, I'm 40 and have a 2 cars I used but took off the road 15-18 years ago with big ideas for modifications. I was also given a very rotten car when I was 16, I soon got frustrated with my lack of ability and put it to one side. I have always been an unsatisfied perfectionist but in recent years have managed to closer align my expectations with my abilities and have started to learn that often good enough is good enough. I have started working towards putting the best condition car back on the road, I'll make a thread when I have something to show for it.

I started refurbishing our house soon after we bought it - in 1983. Never finished and things like kitchen and bathroom now are in desperate need to work again

I've got a bike that has been off the road since early 60's - 1959 Honda CB92 Benly Super Sport. Given to me 30+ years ago by a mate who went to live abroad. Yet another "roundtuit" project

when i was 12, and pretty competent on my cr80 after having had it 2 years, my father bought a kx125 so he could come out with me rather than watching from the car.
when he bought it, it needed a swing arm bush, a new rad and a top end rebuild...rode it twice, stripped the top end...that was 22 years ago...its been moved 4 times in that time and sadly was in my garage when it caught fire so is no longer a viable project...but the top end is still sat in my fathers shed

Derelict cottage 1975 still work in ,very slow, progress. just ,almost, finished bathroom which suffered a hidden leak behind the bath which took the floor out about 3 months ago. but with selling my house i have done more in 12 weeks than ive done in 12 years. I hate with a passion working indoors, much happier working outside in minus 5 degrees with a vest on.

I've had 30 yrs of use and enjoyment out of my Lancia - I know of others, being built to perfection, better than new, that have been in garages longer.
I did obtain some filler last week to fill the holes in an internal cavity wall that I had insulated a decade ago . . . but only because it was left on a table at work with a note - "please take, free".
I suspect however, in another decade, I, or someone, will throw out a tub of solid filler with a faded post-it note on it . . .

Getting my radio licence was a 50 years unfinished project.
I was 16 when I was toddling along to the Glasgow Nautical College of an evening, doing the old RAE there.
Got knocked off my pushbike by a drunkard and woke up in orspittle some time later, with post traumatic amnesia.
Fifty years later, finally got my licence to pester anyone on the airwaves, legally.
