What does the testing involve?I spent a few years doing LOLAR amongst other inspection things (LEV, PSSR, etc) for a medium sized company. Half day rate was £350 and full day £550 which included reporting etc. That was to inspect anything from shackles to passenger lifts, so I guess if your just doing minor lifting you'd have to go in cheaper.
Guess it depends on I your trying to make a living from it or just add it as a sideline. Lots of big company out there offering the same services.
A LOLER test is typically just a full visual inspection (looking for cracks/deformations/damage etc), along with checking everything is working as it should. What does the testing involve?
I bought a forklift man cage brand new with a cert. I wish I had built my own. It is so flimsy. I had to beef up the floor with a sheet of wood. It flexes alarmingly otherwise as the metal is so thin.

Not necessarily prohibitively expensive, but would almost certainly require Professional Indemnity insurance in addition to the usual public / employee liability.Suspect the insurance that you would need might be expensive. might be worth a look before going too far.
