Hi Guys
My daffodil project is approaching completion
Basically hundreds of steel daffodils mounted onto a steel runner's body.
the whole asembly will be powder coated, Gune Metal for the body and yelow for the daffs.
The flowers are secured by studs welded onto their backs which then screw onto nuts welded onto the body.
When being coated the buts will have bolts fitted which come out to leave the threads clean and the daffs will be on a jig with bolts top save the threads.
runner and artist. Checking stability
Daffs
Daffs fitted
A massive PITA but all going well.
So how to secure the daffs?
some are tight some are just a few turns in. On final fitting we can tweal the petals to get a more betterer fit.~
I think maybe loctite on the threads? just to stabilise them or maybe a drop of glue?
Any thoughts.
I will do a thread on the build when I am able to relax. this has been astresser with shifting goal posts, unrealistic deadlines etc etc
