Locks-best to lubricate them or NOT?

We wrecked our 306’s locks by using WD. Main dealer was great and replaced the full set and gave us a bottle of what I presume was graphite powder. I now only clean locks with WD, I lube with graphite

Dirt and dust stick to it and abrade the internals.

The solvents in it wash out the OEM grease, to be replaced by a nasty sticky "gloop" that gradually thickens until it burns out the locking motors, or causes things to bend/wear from the extra force required.

The padlock on my cave 'annexe' as friends call it has become recalcitrant of late, I worked some bike grease into it but it didn't help much - and I get grease on my hands/gloves into the bargain.

I might stick it in the ultrasonic tank then blast clear of the solution with air and re-lube, most likely with graphite powder.

It will damage some clear plastic, also some types of rubber seals. It ate the rubber seal on my windy gun, I lubricated it with WD instead of oil as usual, next time I wanted to use it, the seal in the trigger had turned into a sticky mess.

I wonder if that is what the "gloop" is?
I always thought that it was the less volatile ingredients, but maybe it is (also) the remains of dissolved plastic components.

It washed out all the lube and they seized

I wouldn't fit a Master Lock padlock to anything, without exception they're all terrible.
