Local online used tools sources?

I have a sick habit of buying more tools I don't need when I see something I don't yet have, would like to upgrade or a bargain which would be rude to pass up. This forum doesn't help my illness either.

I live in Co Tyrone NI.

I have used gumtree for years but there isn't much on there tools wise. But I do get something half decent every few weeks on it. Eg the headlamp beam setter for £100. Something that I'll definitely use and couldn't have justified buying new.

I have just started using Facebook marketplace with very mixed results. Stuff that is a total scam, sellers who don't reply and again not a huge lot of stuff on there.

What other sources are there online wise for used tools? Are there other free add sites you lot frequent to feed your fix for an old vice or the 9th welder you just had to have?

Marketplace can be great, it can be a total nightmare as a buyer or seller. I've had some good results and dealt with some really nice people, I've also had time where I confirmed I would have something and then travelled only to find it was sold to someone else.

The one thing I always tend to do is actually ask a proper question instead of randomly clicking "Is this still available" like many lazy Facebook users do.

I must admit I never understand why someone would list something for sale then not respond to any messages even if it was 20mins after it was posted but I guess if some thing is really cheap then you may get 50 messages.

I noticed last week that the only initial contact available was exactly that. Might be the seller set a condition or perhaps it was a FB glitch.

You don't have to use the suggested message, you just type your own. Personally I don't respond to those system messages and I actually put that in the advert, in my experience a good portion of the people are messers who probably click it 20 times a day.

Nope, the only response available was the standard query. Nothing else, I checked.
