well my lwb fuel tank was well and truly ******ed rotted out between the doubleskin underneath so rather than spend a few hundreds which i cant right now thought id build a new one, heres the pics of so far. and how im doing it, this is bye no means probly the right way but anyway here goes.

start off with old fuel tank, remove under side skid pan, this is the only bit i want

then your left with 2 bits, the tank and the second skin skid pan, heres the ******ed tank.

then plasma cut roughly the side of tank out to make rough template, this also shows the baffle

then draw template and cut out

forgot to take few photos of fitting strengthening for the bit that goes around cross member sorry, heres fitting in the 3 bits of steel for u and tacking in.

bit further along and some more panels, welding aint great but its water tight

here it is at end of day one, so far.

That's some thick looking plate you're using!

I assume it's a deisel, or you have a new hairstyle!

Oddly, im just about to change the tank on my 110, its sprung a leak lol.

I thought about making one, so im interested in how yrs turns out and the method you use to get the shape ect.

But, on ebay theyre selling tnaks for about £80 and when i looked at the normal LR parts price, thats about the average price for the 110. I need to give them my VN no just to make sure its the right one, which im sure it is, otherwise the next price is about £320 but thats for a Td5 which mine isnt.

Good luck and ill be following this, cos i think id rather make one ot of thicker metal to be honest as im planning on keeping it for a while longer.
