Little bb's left all over

I am playing with a mig welder, using the flux core wire (030) that came with it. I am practicing beads on a piece of 1/4 angle stock. I keep leaving a lot of little bb's all over. What causes this? This mig is not really big enough for 1/4" stuff, but for practicing should be OK, maybe?

i used the roll of gasless that came with my welder and have tonight started using gas. my gasless wire would leave a mess like that but the gas is much better

are you cleaning the metal properly before you begin your weld??

Hehe...yeah i think he means spatter...i think??
But it's always messy gasless mig, i really don't think there's much you can do about it...
he could always use his famous pocket knife and convert it into a gas mig! (sorry bad joke...)
