Lincon 125 Welder, High Amps?

Hi guys, this is my first post here and have a quick question,

I am new to welding and have been practicing on and off for the last year with no amp problems.

Recently, my step dad has been complaining about lights flickering on and off in the house while using the welder. Since this is a new welder, not been used much, can this welder be pulling more amperage than usuall?

My welder seems to weld fine, and is set up on flux cored 0.35 wire with-out gas shielding. It has the standard wall socket plug and I checked that and it was not warm or hot when the lights where flickering...

Also, I notice that the arc dosent seem to be steady and likes to jump around some. I thought this was due to my in-experiance, but I dont know now. Can anyone give me a hand here with this?

It sounds like your welder is pulling too many amps, for your wiring situation.
The lights flickering would be from the voltage fluctuating,so would the unstable arc.
It could be the wiring on that circuit is carrying too many devices.
Try finding an outlet that will only have the welder on it.
You may have wiring problems in the house, if you notice anything out of the ordinary, have your wiring checked.

Small 110V MIGs violate standards on currents. The plug that comes on these welders is supposed to be rated at 15A. The proper plug will have one of the prongs rotated 90 degrees for a "Dedicated 20A outlet".

My CLarke 130EN would trip a 20A breaker when maxed out.

You need a dedicated outlet and a 20A rated extension cord. If you have a washing machine in the garage, that will have a 20A outlet (it will accept both the 15A and 20A plugs.) Best is to have one wired. I wired one just below my breaker panel.

The other issue is noise. Florescent lights will flicker as the noise modulates the on/off time of the bulb (electronic ballasts do not have this problem.)
