Lincoln vs Clarke

ok i have been looking around and the form choice for a budget welder seems to be
Clarke for hobby/diy use

but i really want a euro tourch because of the longer length and the fact is i will break it or twist the wire feed so euro is easy to replace

i have found these 2 machines

Lincoln Powertec 161C £670 delivered from rapidwelding
or
Clarke 230Tec turbo mig £640 delivered from ebay/forthtools.co.uk

i could collect the Clarke as its 15 mins from my work

i am looking for advice i will be building big engined quads and repairing cars / vans
also running off a 13amp plug and mostly welding out doors with a wind shield/block

any advice welcome and if anyone has experience with any of they companies feedback is well wanted

hi I am not really bothered about the price but more on the machines reliability and durability

I possibly squeeze 650-700 on a MIG so not really bothered about cheaper quotes on a cheaper machine

the price is not the problem I just what to know the pros and cons of the machines I am very new to Mig so I want learning to be easy

the thickest thing I can imagine me welding is about 5/6 MM

its mostly car body repairs and a planned chopper build for the summer so I dont need mega amps

It has been discussed here before, the Clarke 200+ Amp MIGs are overpriced. Most here only recommend the 130-150A Clarkes.

For the same or less, you can get a PortaMIG that will run circles around the Clarkes with a better duty cycle, more power settings and much better wire feeder.

The ESAB should do well.
