Hi
I have just got a Lincoln Invertec V145 but the mains cable is a european one (a Shuko type). I need to swap this for a Uk mains plug.
Does anyone know the best way to do this? I thought of just cutting the old plug off the lead and wiring a normal UK plug on it. However, the cable diameter is 11.5mm which is too big to fit into the cable grip on the plugs I have.
I looked into replacing the whole mains lead. This looks doable as it is fixed onto the main board inside the unit with some crimp on connectors. If this is the best way, can anyone suggest some suitable cable? (needs to be a minimum of 1.5mm^2 cores and 10mm diameter I guess). I could take it to the lincoln service centre as it is nearby.
I also considered a EURO to UK plug convertor as a bodge. Similar to this (clicky). Any thoughts? I reckon it might get a bit unhappy when I turn the power up.
Any help would be great.
cheers

P.S. I will be using the unit for MMA mainly but would like to get into some MIG.
