Lincoln 140

I'm new to MIG welding and I'm looking at a Lincoln Weld-Pak 140 HD MIG welder and I'm trying to compare it to other MIG welders from Lincoln. There are a bunch of them. Besides the one I'm looking at there'a a 140C, a SP 140, an Easy Weld 140 and others. Does anyone know the difference in them and can rate them good, better and best?

I've done some research and I think the Lincoln 140 HD is a good welder for my use. I've already got a stick welder and oxy/acetylene but the MIG will be used to restore an MGA so it's mostly sheet metal an d a little frame work it'll be used for. Thanks for your help.

There are several variants of the Lincoln welders. Supposedly, the HD version is a Home Depot version.

Make sure they can do gas MIG. Some don't come with the regulator and solenoid so they require a conversion kit.

They are good machines. Also check out the Hobart Handler 140; it is another good one.

If you have done stick, MIG will be easy

That's good marketing if I saw HD on a similar product I would assume it meant heavy duty!
