Light weight auto darkening lid

I'm looking to replace an Optrel OSEvolution. I like something lighter, but it looks like no one makes a lid less than 500g. There is the Optrel Weldcap at 390g but that only goes down to 9.

The OSE weighs in at 570g and goes down to 5: I need this low shade as for the most part I'm at less than 50amp.

Its claimed weight is 470g.

I just had a go at 10 amps AC, 2.4 tungsten with the shade maxed down to 9 and I could see no probs.

I have "cheater" lenses in my lids, I don't need specs for most stuff, but at low light levels, I need corrective lenses, ie, if I ride my bike with clear eyewear, I don't need prescription lenses, but If I wear shades, I do.

If you don't have lenses in your current lid, maybe try one to see if it helps, and if so, maybe a lighter weight lid at 9 will do???

Shade 5 for welding? Wow I'd find that impossible. Even at 10amp I'm at 9/10.
I find with masks the compromise is generally between weight and viewing area. The bulk of it is in the size of the adf which is probably why the optrels are lighter as they have small viewing areas. My current is a Viking 3350. It's not overly heavy as the weight is quite balanced but it's certainly no where near the 500 gram mark as the adf is huge.
Have you looked at the Jackson wh70 or aristo HD. Both are quite light with medium sized adfs.
Both are 1/1/1/1 optical clarity with lower shades. I've used both and they are good lids.
