Hi all,
I have recently started work for a new client and one of my first projects to them in the coming weeks is a bunch of 254x73uc raking props for facade retention. They are going to be site welding the props to some cast in plates (I'm supplying these) and this evening they have requested "lifting eyes" on the props to aid the site welding process (I'm not doing this). The props have been designed by an SE with a weld spec that i have a WPS for but I have nothing other than the above on these lifting eyes, literally a request. My question is what should i be doing, I'm assuming that i should be requesting a design of said eyes that includes weld spec or can i suggest (with SE approval) that drilled and bolted may be an option. It makes no difference to me which i supply but I'm assuming even for something relatively "light" it still needs to be executed correctly.
I read back on a previous post about this back in 2017 but i just wanted some reassurance/guidance that what I'm thinking is correct. Even if it's a drilled and bolted point, it still needs an SE to confirm this!?!?
Thanks all
