Life of mask filters

Hi guys, I have a DeVilbiss Half Mask Respirator with the two canisters, one on either side, How do I know when the canisters need to be replaced? I change the pre filters as soon as they look dirty but I have no idea how long the canisters should last

Your meant to change them every 28 or 30 days really, but that's for daily use. At home I stick a new set for every project if it's been in the box for while, or change them if you can smell the thinners.
