Lidle radios low battery warning, can it be fooled/hacked?

There will be a potential divider somewhere, to set the alarm voltage. Older sets might have adjustable pots but newer sets likely use a network of surface mounted resistors. Likely removing the bleeper, if a separate transducer, is easier, but if the sound comes through the same speaker as the radio audio, you are likely out of luck.

That's about what I've been thinking is happening, thanks for your input.

The sound comes through the speaker, seemingly at full volume whatever level the radio volume is set at. My thoughts are that whatever switches the bleeps on would also switch the set off at a battery power level that is also wrong.

So there would still be a problem if the bleep was stopped, that's I haven't bothered looking into disabling the bleep..

No but I used some insertion...

Shim stock and solder, pics should be self explanatory..

Changed the insulator for a thinner one for more room, because apparently RC batts expand as they discharge, who knew?

The other compartment is to put a phone or other device in to connect it via earphone socket, and keep it clean on site. Can also use alternative Bluetooth.

Better way of connecting batt 7 to follow.

It's been playing for almost 2 hrs now and no bleeps at all, so far so good!

Now I have a quandary, I have another RC battery, dare I put eight batteries in there for longer life?

Nominal voltages as per label.

6 x 1.5v standard = 9v

6 x 1.2 RC = 7.2v
7 x " " = 8.4
8 x " " = 9.6

Multiple connected together 1.2 v RC battery actual voltages (If I can rely on my multimeter) at full charge.
6 x 8.23v
7 x 9.60v
8 x 10.98v

1.2v RC spec shows that they do in fact put out quite a bit more than that at times.

I can't find any spec for any standard C batts other than a nominal 1.5v, but I would assume they put out more than that at times, and the radio must be able to tolerate that voltage, which could even be higher than RC.

7 x RC is already over 9v but I wonder if 6 x 1.5 is actually more than 10.98v, I'm tempted to try but scared!

Help! We have much wiser people on here than me who must know..
