Lidle radios low battery warning, can it be fooled/hacked?

Hoping for a solution to this in less than 10 pages, without going OT, invoking puppy dog, youtube links, wildlife rights, Self and Hasty or zapping it with a stick welder!

I have faith in y'all, prove me wrong !

I've had a Lidle 'builders' DAB radio in my shed for some time and it works fine on mains power, but if I run it on rechargeable batteries the low power warning starts to bleep after about 1/2 an hour.

Reckon this is most likely due to how it reads the different chemistry between rechargeable 1.2v and standard batteries 1.5v so looking for a fix for it.

Would adding another single battery to the six to boost the total voltage from nominal to 7.2v (recharge) to 8.4v to be nearer 9v total which the spec says it needs do the trick?

How anyone could think an earsplitting bleep every minute or so is even necessary, especially one more suited to the countdown to the apocalypse, is beyond me!

place Seven sliced lemons into a bucket, line the bucket with several layer of grease proof paper and tinfoil.
wear bucket inverted on your head ensuring that your ears are covered.

Many bluetooth earphones do this so I know what you mean, wouldnt be so bad if it was right before it cuts but theres a good 10 minutes of power left. I put a bigger lipo in and problem solved.
However I dont listen to public radio, the bleeping is likely an improvement.

If mains is not an option, Id use an lipo battery pack/power bank, with a boost or buck converter to get the required ideal voltage. Likely that a small lipo cell plus boost coverter may fit in the compartment.

Or take it back to ze germans as not fit for purpose and buy a proper one?

Try Li-Ion rechargables rather than Ni_Cd?

You answered yourself. No easy solution. DAB radios have always been heavier on batteries than conventional radios; I only have mains powered DABs.

Your own answer is the best, but how would you get them to fit?
A little mains inverter and a yuasa 12v or whatever would work, but it’s all a faff.

Buy another set of batteries and swap them over every 25 minutes.

Easy, do what I did when MOT came up and i had a broken ABS sensor. Cut the wire to the warning light

you need to borrow the battery from the Oxford Electric Bell with a step down voltage converter......its about 2000 volts and had been working for 175 years, funny thing is that they dont know exactly how it was made or why it still works

Aha. Roaming, a different scenario completely. You need 7 lemons (sliced) and two oranges sliced into quarters lengthways, place two quarters of lemons above your left ear and one above your right. The remaining quarters must be inserted rectally.
you will feel the difference immediately

Tried that but seven slices and only two ears meant incomplete cortexual alignment when observing the latent azimuth chainlink, I asked my almost friend Hognat Womser to try it for me and now we'll never be real friends....ever! :-(
