Lidl metal sculptures

Has anybody else noticed that next week Lidl are selling metal garden sculptures, I think there are 3 different metal birds, peacock, crane etc, all around 90cm tall at less than a tenner each, might give some of the artistically challenged members like myself food for thought, Worth a look!!!

These prices are ridiculous..... saw a rose obelisk in wilko the other day, £5
Couldn't even buy the metal to make a nice one, let alone make and powder coat.

Aldi has some hanging basket brackets in, really good heavy quality, blacksmith style, not the usual cheap import and well coated £3.99, does not help when you offer to make someone similar for a tenner ..as a favour

the workers in East Africa and asia are being screwed something chronic, I was just asked to make 200+ table decorations for a big corporate do in the 'African style'.
I told them to go elsewhere, saying my price would have been in the thousands for 200 of the suckers. I even gave them a lonk and they did not even say thanks.

I have seen quite a few programmes on 3rd world labour etc, and I agree with you chunko,
but at the same time most of the workers would rather earn a few (quid) paltry by our standards than not make any money at all

More fool you, Id say. Big corporation... The person dealing with this really couldn't give a pile of steaming... how much these things cost. It's more to do with who/where it was made, ie not in a 3rd world country ironically
