Lidl electrodes

I spotted the Lidl stick welders in stock again, and 1kg packets of rods for £2.99 each, so grabbed a packet of each size. The bigger packet has no writing in English, the smaller does, it says they can be used electrode positive or negative, but which would be best, I'm just getting started to learn with a 140A ebay welder, but only ever tried 3.2mm rods so far, 6013 & 7018. Does anybody know which type these would be equivalent to?

I read the term 'universal' to mean probably 6013 and capable of some positional work. Having made the mistake of buying some Halford's electrodes years back, I'm always wary of rods without a recognised brand name. That said, if you buy some, I'd be interested to know how they perform.

The ISO 2560-A code on the box has a lot more information then that stupid AWS number.
But if you realy want to know the AWS A5.1 number . Those are 6012 not 6013.
RC stands for rutile-cellulose. It's an all position rod (the last 1 in de ISO number) also good for vertical down.

I don't believe I have ever run a 6012.

Will have to get some of these just to try.

I also bought a pack of each (and the welder to go with them ) the larger ones seem better the smaller 2mm are hard to start and my arc keeps going out the 2.5 seem easier to run but the little machine overheats pretty quickly I’m just burning rods at the moment trying to manage the puddle and keep the arc lit

I also got a pack of these less than an hour ago only had the 2.5's left or i would of had a pack of each
just need to knock up a lead now .
