Lidl cutting discs

Bought a pack of these green label cutting discs from Lidl yesterday while I was there. Absolutely useless. do not cut, just turns the steel blue with heat. Tried another one, just in case it was the one disc. Not the bargain it seemed.

Have used their blue label ones a lot, and they are absolutely fine

Hmm, what are you cutting? Some dont like stainless, tho even the cheapest I've bought will cut it no issue.

However I did have an issue with "Inox" 80 grit flap discs from aldi, udually very good, wouldnt touch the stainless handrails/cast end plates that needed 0.5mm off diameter in places.

Having tried over a dozen brands of metal slitting discs I can't say I've ever noticed any real difference and definitely no major issues. Albeit I haven't tried Parkside ones as I have around 200 to use up first!

3mm mild steel sheet.

No problem at all for their blue label discs, or the Bosch, Dewalt, and Norton ones I have.

These green label ones state they are for metal cutting, so I would have thought they were OK

I had some years ago by Silverline and the best use for them was dunking them in coffee

I use Bosch Inox cutting disks, work a treat.

Even the two free ones with my fakita grinder, cut perfectly well.

The only problem I've had is with old Flexovit discs which shattered/shredded themselves.

My experience with Aldi and Lidl gear is that the tools are great value but the accessories often aren't, eg. their knock off Dremmel accessories are cheap but pretty poor. The discs shatter on just about anything and the little wire cup things just catapult bits of wire everywhere.

They're just down right dangerous, had 3 Lidl cutting disc's fly apart luckily full face mask prevented a nasty injury. Only use Autojumble ones now or if I have to buy from a shop Screwfix Erbauer.

3M Cubitron II are the last word in slitting discs in my experience, though I see there's now a Cubitron III. I look forward to trying them at some point.

I've a pack of parkside slitting discs I use for gnarly stuff where I don't want to risk it grabbing and knocking a chunk out of a good disc. I find they wear at a rate of knots and they're incredibly dusty but they do cut there or thereabouts. Like most things at the bottom end of the market, the lack of quality control is the biggest issue.

I've been using the blue/red lidl discs for years and I find them very good.

Recently I've bought lidl 'performance' cutting discs and they are simply awesome. They eat through any metal with minimum sparks and don't leave a burr!

On the other hand I bought a box of bosch cutting discs and they just turned to dust and cut very little!
