On market place ive seen a makita chainsaw with 2 batterys and dual charger for 89.99 sound great way to great after just a quick look only looks to be a copy of a lidl site so your not going to recive what's there so prob just collecting credit card information etc

There's another scam site for parkside stuff park...official...uk dot com (without the dots). My mate ordered stuff from there and got stung.

I saw the Parkside one a while ago and it's very convincing. I always look for a lock symbol in the site name. If there isn't one it's definitely not safe. I've reported many sites to Facebook that are pretending to be well known retailers but they don't care and you get a response saying no regs have been broken.

There's a scam retailer that pretends to be London Leathers and it's clear from the comments that people think it's the long established motorbike leathers company - it's just a drop shipper selling Chinese leather jackets.

Yes be careful on FB its full of scam paid adds and scam free adds both. FB don't do anything if you report them, especially the paid adds.

My rule on FB and parting money is simple. Unless I see the item in person never hand over money. There are rare exceptions to everything of course but if say I buy something that needs posted ill use only a safe payment method like PayPal with goods services protection and nothing else. Genuine people will have no issue with that. Be careful out there.

this is the part that bugs me they take down film and music sites for fun

but when it comes to fraud/scam sites there just sat there

with facebook its not bound by uk regs so have to go to owners district to get the court order

but what the uk can do is block facebook themselves just like the film and music sites

now that i wouldnt mind

As with any larger US corporation Its about money, they cut back on moderation and content review to make more money for shareholders saving wages, and now there's not enough actual people to go round. And what few there are is based in low wage countries where the person is less likely to actually understand or care about the issue.
Also the systems make it difficult to get in touch with a actual person to make that persons time go further, with automation fobbing off a % of demands. Then in a few months, the same headcount reduction will happen again, and again and again until everyone wakes up to what a uncontrolled cesspool of automated responses and no review it actually is.
Facebook was okish a few years back, until they started to decide what you wanted to see etc to make more money, and part of making more money was driving engagement which the scammers picked up on how to trigger and get promoted. now I basically have zero faith in anything on there. I literally keep a account open with all the wrong information because some family dont seem to know there's any other way to contact me.

there is one site that offers driving licences for whatever class you desire, i have reported it many times but faceache say it,s no problemo....strange dat.
