I just weld a big fat washer onto a 12/16mm bolt and use a couple of nuts. If your lathe is never intended to move I'd prefer wedges and grout though.

Thanks guys. These are for a little project that Paul is helping me on. I could do them on my lathe but I'm not experienced enough just yet. Much easier to buy something ready made
