LED on a strip......

sounds simple......
this lamp saga is now over 4 months in the running.....with plenty of ear ache.....hahaha....
her indoors found a custom made wall light fitting for the up-graded master bathroom.....
I told her just buy it, stuff the cost......
while trying to find something cheaper the lamp has been sold and the shop closed down.....
Now I said, I can copy the lamp as I have a photo......
now too my prob.....
the norm cut up LED's on a strip are just not bright enough......
we have another bathroom lamp, also wall mounted with super bright LED's.....
what would be the name of the super bright type.....I've heard of COB ????? but have no idea......
I want the LED's and the driver in my hand before I make the new lamp...
help pls......

I think they come in different varieties of light, ie Bright Blue light and a Warm yellow light there is another but can't remember the name.
My understanding is this is achieved by varying the resistance to the LED's, my mate can change the colour of his using a control box and a phone app.

COB LEDs come with some optics on the front, have a look at the stuff from Cree as an example but there are loads of manufacturers. With those you'll then just need to match the driver current to the LED and with anything higher power, you'll need to provide some heatsinking for them. COB are generally already on a small bit of Ali PCB which you can then just attach to a bit of the frame and usefully, the COB is isolated
