Led cooker hood bulbs

I upgraded last year as she leaves on it likes it’s a feature light in the kitchen....

It’s now got 2 led bulbs from screwfix as if they fail you can take them back. The cheaper they are the more chance that even an led one will fail

I bought some pound shop LED bulbs and they all failed in rapid succession within a few months.
On a slight tangent.... I’m assuming all incandescent bulbs will be phased out in time so how will that work with ovens?
I can’t see LED bulbs being suitable for oven temperatures?

I've got the filament type in fittings with decorative appeal and the multi-LED (corncob some places call them) type in fittins where the bulb is concealed. The difference normally is that the filament type are more expensive, the light output is about the same so I'd got for cheapest is best for a cooker hood

Thanks browser I was thinking the filament type might not be as rugged you know with the vibration from the fan

Good point, haven't really had to test their ruggedness yet, time will tell I suppose

They will be phased out eventually other than for specialist applications. Ovens could be classed as a specialist application. There is temporary legislation in place to protect theatre lamps from the ban although the EU is trying to get that removed and make all theatres, venues etc convert to LED, it'll close alot of smaller venues down if they get there way (going off at even more of a tangent).

Maybe everyone will have to put up with no oven light. We haven’t ever had a light in ours - always gas ovens though.
