Leaving a power hacksaw outside

My shed is small, and i really want to buy a power hacksaw like a rapidor or ajax at some stage, but i won't be able to house it in the shed. What i was thinking was, if i gave the saw a thick coating of 2 pack epoxy primer and the bare parts a coat of thick grease would it be ok to leave it outside ?

As long as you cover it up well
I don't see why not
I have a fly press outside (no electrics mind)

Make a wooden case for it ie wooden base then a top case you can put over it when not in use and lockable,you could line the case with an isulation such as polystyrene to keep it from condensation.

if u cover it up no problem dont even bother greasing it just oil the running parts all i oil is the guide bars motors are sealed anyhow

when I got my power hacksaw, it had been sat outside for about 12 yrs with a piece of cracked rotten plastic on top, I can remember seeing it covered in snow year after year. I asked the bloke what he wanted for it, and he said take if you want it!!!

took it down me shed, let it dry out, oiled it up and away she went, still going strong today.

I have a washing machine stood outside for doing my overalls. Rain doesn't seem to bother that, i doubt it'll bother your hacksaw.

As Brightspark says, skip the grease and just use oil. You can give it a quick wipe down and re-oil on the guides before use that way, in case any gritty dust has blown onto it. Grease would hold on like snot.

My small bandsaw lives under a tarp all year round.
Bit of surface rust which wipes off before use.
