Leaky sunroof

Her indoors' Discovery sunroofs both leak badly, we don't use them and I can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of dropping the headlining, removing the complete assemblies and resealing the frames only for it to happen again. I just want to seal them closed and be done with them.
What would be the best stuff to use?

Hi Wozzaaah,

If you're serious, then dry them out, mask up the roof and the glass, then fill the gap all round with clear silicon sealer. Smooth off with a wet finger and remove masking before it dries.

Edit: Oh, and trip the electrics (remove fuses or disconnect plugs)!

Tiger Seal or Sikaflex, Tiger Seal is cheaper. Any PU sealant or adhesive really would do it.

If they are factory it’s normally due to the drains being blocked, had success on our D2 with a stiff wire down the tubes

or if you can find the bottom of the tube, blow up, the sh1t got stuck on the way down, better to reverse the process, often find a large seed or cherry stone comes out, rarely any other cause other than blocked drain tubes, maybe some way of sucking from the top would also work,

I'm definitely serious, I just can't be bothered to remove and reseal the frames, which I believe is the main problem and she NEVER uses the sunroofs.
They're manual ones, not electric.
Our local land rover "specialists" quoted us close to £700 to do the job properly!

Second what @Matchless says.

If I remember correctly the front exit down into the rear of the wheel well. Come down the A pillar and through the bulkhead near the wipers.

The rear one goes out down the rear corner post somewhere as well.

why not leave them alone and have a think , you may want to do something with them in the summer , sealer would be a pita to try and get off and sort out , how about just going over the joint with helicopter tape , its clear tough and should work well without looking bad either.

The drains are a last resort.

When the sunroofs are closed,if you are getting water in then either the rubber seals aren't working or its getting under the frame

As a quick fix, vasilene on the rubber seals and a thin bead of silicone around the edge of the frame where it meets the roof

Have sealed so many disco sunroofs even my own disco 1 is sealed up

just a bit of sikaflex and it lasts years

I had a leaking sunroof on my first legacy. Repairing it involved removing the upper trim & headlining. I never used the darn thing so I sealed it up with black tiger seal, using masking tape to get a neat line, then I disconnected the switch.
