Leaking trolley jack

I have a Draper trolley jack. It must me about 30 years old now but I guess the design of the hydraulics on these is fairly standard. For some years it has been leaking around the plunger that is pushed in and out by the long handle.

If I remove the plunger will I find an O ring on it or in the opening that I can change and cure the problem? Is this simple or are there some pitfalls I should be looking out for?

I hope they use standard size O rings.

i just refurbed my trolley jack new plunger cup washer and dirt seal most bearing places keep them or u could look up draper spares look up seeley spares theres a firm do parts for both makes

My Draper 2 tonne jack is leaking from the same place as yours, i took out the plunger and found an O ring and a split plastic washer
I found the exploded diagram on the draper website, and on their diagram was an O ring and a " seal"
I phoned draper who siad the parts were 30p each and they would just send me them F.O.C

2 days later a small package came, 2 O Rings AND 2 rubber seals ( they looked like cup seals) there is no way they will fit my jack, so i rang draper again and explained what they sent is not whats in my jack or on their drawing. I was told that the part numbers match what was sent and that was all they would have.
they did say they would have a word with 1 of their technicians on monday 9th aug, and ring me back but that they might need a photo of the parts from my jack

my trolley is organic. it puts paid to all that fannying about with gas leaks and broken axe weilder arcs that don't wiorth they money they were printed on!
no need for o seals i just wheel it straight through and it cuts cdown time as well!
