Gas PTFE is thicker and is known as one wrap, so it's consistent in use, it's identical in composition to normal stuff

If you've got to use jointing tape there is a good chance the fitting is knackered and under no circumstances whatsoever use PTFE tape on oxygen connections

Appreciate the heads-up/warning, but it's only ever going to Agroshield coming through it - unless I get really ambitious and decide to try TIG with pure Argon.

Airline fittings are notoriously bad for leaking, you want a connector like this.

They can be used for gas or water and they seal well even at low pressures. Unlike an airline fitting which will be made to a much lower tolerance.

Thats the one with the gas. the other has air and no tape. the hoses are the same and would get swapped over if not marked. need proper identifiers on them really.

Aye lads, that's been my problem using eBay airline PCL ones. But it's tight for the moment so will monitor in use. How much do those cost in case I need to re-do the QR fittings, Tom?

Couldn't say, R-Tech aren't my field of expertise but they do put quite large bore hoses on them, looks like at least 6mm bore. As for the cost I think you can get genuine Binzel connectors male and female parts for around £15 all in, however there are cheaper versions that work well too.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind if I need to re-do them.

Those Binzel Q/R connectors are Rectus fittings. Rectus 21 is the most common i believe (especially for water coolers), the slightly smaller Rectus 20 is also used, My Lincoln V205 uses both for water and gas respectively

This thread has been discussed recently.There are genuine Rectus and copies.The genuine Rectus and copy Rectus do not match,this will give gas problems,leaking etc.
