Leaded Glass

Has anybody had experience repairing leaded windows I have repaired my sister in laws front door a few times putting in a pane or two, but the whole thing got broken last year and was professionally repaired/ rebuilt, they seemed to use some form of glue /sealer that goes hard -ish, within the lead channels, I have removed the old broken pane but now need to replace the glass and solder the joint. One of my old customers, this was his job / business have been to his house to see if there was anybody, that any idea ie son or daughter, but as with all of this type of trades, he died, skill died with him, business closed.

Too true, a friend of mine does leaded glass

This if what my mother uses, as she is making all the windows for our house. She brushes it into the joints with a stiff brush.

That's nothing - some chapters suggest you buy a few grams of arsenic and mercury from your local chemist!

It's really interesting what you used to be able to buy over the counter in Victorian & Edwardian times.
