Lazy Tongs Riviter

Hello,
Is it worth paying extra for the likes of this over the cheaper models,

borrowed an older version of this one off a neighbour and they are very handy when compared to the normal hand riviter.

Used to use one and if you are putting rivets in on a regular basis they are well worth the money, they also tend to pull the rivet tighter, also easier on larger diameter rivets.

Thanks, would you go for the King Klik model, the quality should be miles ahead of a cheaper one?

I bought a cheapy for £15 and its worked fine, must have put over 300 rivets in with it, filling in old fixing holes on box profile sheeting.

Eclipse take some beating (Literally) and are slightly cheaper than the one in your link.

We had at work a. Pair of eclipse ones that must have been 30 years old and they worked well but died other month. (I was rebuilding Landrover at time) we also had ck ones not much to tell between but ck we're bit newer (also died about same time) now have a set of RS ones and there rubbish

YES. I have a very old pair they weigh a ton, (the head is made from bronze) but they never fail to work. Used many others and you are forever adjusting the internals to get them to pull

Thanks for all the replies, have seen the eclipse ones on ebay, not a major pile cheaper, but i see some around 50 and more up on 200,they look the same to me,

Spiralux are not bad and you can get spares from them.

Have a King Klick as illustrated, over 35 years old, used in my business and now back home for hobby use - excellent kit!

i have the spiralux ones,very good although i need new jaws [again].

I thought of getting the king klik ones, but the delivery and admin fees spoiled the price, £41, nearly as much as the riveter itself,
i see two eclipse ones 2750 and 2750 hd, im sure the 2750 model would be good enough for light use?
or i might wait and see would anything come up on ebay

I would not be suprised if they were Far East - face it, these days most stuff is, or at least part of it.
Irrespective of where it comes from, Eclipse quality has always been perfectly good i have found.

Were they not based in Sheffield originally?
