So a year+ after the completion of the Birthday Pond https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/surprise-pond.97969/ wife decides she'd like to have
a) vertical mosaic tile from the edge down to the water's surface - somehow mounted to the pond liner
b) replace the slate round the outside with handmade unsealed terracotta tiles, which she went ahead and acquired. Two different thickness' and shapes of course
The slate sits (ie was placed !) on existing paving slabs and my plan (that I would like input on please) is to remove it then..
1) clean slabs off
2) douse in SBR,
3) mount a few 90deg galvanised straps to the slabs to hold a vertical galv wiring tray round the inside edge of the pond upon which will be glued the mosaic tiles (this works, I tried it!)
4) use a 5:1 sand:cement screed to cover the straps and accommodate different tile thicknesses and give a 1-2% grade to the pond
5) Stick the tiles on to screed using some form of adhesive (?) at 10mm gaps
6) seal the tiles with an invisible sealer (?)
7) grout the tiles with ?
8) re-seal with more invisible sealer.

There are square ones for pond edge too
Any suggestions for improvement welcome !
