Tell her to bend her knees or she'll have a bad back and not be able to make tea!
No, the soil has been there at that level for 120 years so not too worried. No damp course either on these old houses. Is the house wall protected from the damp soil of the raised bed against it ?
Really nice. Now its finished, time to move to somewhere with a bigger shed!Quite the transformation @RaceDiagnostics , well done![]()
Shed"s for Kim, garage for me. I'll be leaving this house in a box after the effort I've put into it.Really nice. Now its finished, time to move to somewhere with a bigger shed!
Full disclosure, as I said in an earlier thread, once I felt the weight of the slabs I realised I would need help. I ended up with a brickie and his mate who now mostly do patios. They were here for nearly two weeks and charged £6k (Inc all materials and skip hire except the slabs), I did have a cheaper quote but the guys I used could start sooner. The worst quote I got was 15k for the labour.Wonderful!.
You've proved to yourself there's life in the old dog yet and no contrctor would have doe the work with so much care and pride
How did it work out financially compared to your quotes?
