Hi all, need to pick another lathe based job for my college folder and I have 12 hours machining and fettling time for this one so what should I do. Ideally something useful ish?

any ideas?

What about a set of clutch aligning tools,i know you will make use of them

Does the 12hours include paperwork etc or is that allowed workshop time? There was a lad on here once who made a fully functional remote control Argo cat

No, Just workshop time I do all the writeups at home. Already done all the basic tool like bits- Screwjack, tap wrench vee block ect.

Something a bit involved and interesting. Also use of the mills and surface grinders.

brake caliper wind back tool? you could screw cut some chunky threads on it, something like this-

i always tried to make stuff that i actually needed as practise when i was an apprentice, bits for cars and bikes mostly- billet header tank, strut brace, gear and brake levers, thar sort of thing
