A nice solid lathe that would be a good base for making a small CNC lathe. As it is it is really just a very basic machine as no feeds and no means of thread cutting.

A lot of those were sold to schools, very simple & idiot proof with no power feeds.
They are not worth a great deal. Good for cast iron work as the bed is very well hardened.

Wow, that's a name from the past. They used to have a huge warehouse which I occasionally visited to ogle all the machine tools that I couldn't afford. It's long gone now. There's a small ̶b̶r̶o̶t̶h̶e̶l̶ hotel on the site now

It seems a very small and feature-lacking lathe for £300.

My lathe was a step up in size (Denham Mk 2) which admittedly was missing its screw cutting gearbox, but I paid £170 for it.

£300 is a bit steep considering what you can get for that money? was there any tooling with it? this can alter the price.
