Last read

One of the things I particularly like about this forum is that when I click on a thread, it takes me to the last post in that topic that I've read. This is great when you consider how long some of these threads get to!

This sadly seems to have stopped working, coincidently (though I suspect no coincidence!) at the same time as my browser (Firefox) did an update. Anyone else having this problem? Or more importantly, anyone else found a fix?

Is it maybe to do with your cookies settings, as I would imagine it uses these to determine what you have seen/read?

Is that where the record of where I get to in a thread is stored? I'm pretty sure tey always get deleted every time I close Firefox, so maybe.

I think so, but I could be (Probably am!) wrong. I know if I haven’t read a thread for a while it goes back to the beginning but if I’ve been on the thread recently (ie last couple of weeks) it will stay up to date.

That's what happens here too. Linux Mint 19.3 Firefox 80.0

So to quickly test if it’s your browser cache/cookies (mmmmm) then try a private window. You’ll need to login obviously but it should eliminate that.

I believe the last read is done globally with a singular timestamp but I don’t know the backend personally.
