laser welding of aluminum with stainless steel

Hello.

I am seeking information on laser welding of stainless steel with aluminum? Done anybody can weld? It will help me anyone?
He wants to weld it on the TruLaser 5020 laser.

....Laser welding is a bit beyond what is covered on an Internet forum.

It's also very expensive!

We have loads done. I say we - previous company I worked for and pretty well all my clients. It's pretty well the recognised method for toolmakers now days - it doesn't ruin the surrounding material and keeps rework down to a minimum. Saying all that all we do is send it off saying what we want done. Never heard of welding stainless steel to ali, didn't even know you could do it.

I've seen MIG welding of steel and aluminium.
I know nothing about it other than the welding kit was Fronius CMT, I just thought I'd mention it because I found it so interesting at the time.
