Laser level 2

I'm after a laser level but don't really need it to be level.For what I need I don't need expensive, all I want is a vertical and horizontal light beam at 90 degrees to each other for lining up virticals and center points of car seats that I upholster.If its almost level thats a bonus.Does anyone know if the cheaper ebay ones are suitable for this or any experience of these?

I have the parkside one from lidl which i assume is the same or at least related to the ebay offerings? Its fine. 2 modes, you can have it as a self levelling level (does that even make sense?!) or lock the floating mirrors so you can point it wherever you want and get your 90 degree lines. I use it for DIY and have fitted a kitchen with it. Checked with my stabilia bubble level and its spot on. About £30 ish when they come up. I'll get a model number tomorrow, sometimes you'll find an ebay one with the same model number.

Only criticism is I didnt get a cheap tripod with it. Keep having to pinch the wifes expensive camera one. They will come round again soon enough I imagine.

I use a Magnusson one from screwfix its brilliant for the money, will do either self leveling or fixed and you can rotate the beam keeping the 90°

I have an old Stanley yellow cube one. Quite handy as long as it's not outside in bright daylight and a few metres away. I imagine this would work exactly the same and - according to the Q&Aa - it also has the 1/4" thread for a standard tripod (may not be required today but who knows about tomorrow)...

It will be used indoors on the floor or bench probably from a metre away.

had my laser in the corridor at the girls school one lass said is it ok to go through looking at the red line on the floor. yea no probs she walked forward and stepped over it I had to turn away and laugh

I have some airlines and cable tray to move so need to project lines at 90 to each other from floor to tray height and get a centre point to chalk down no to the floor.
Normally I would just use string lines but no climbing ladders at the moment so need to be able to point a laser centre of the tray then project down to the floor.

to be honest the majority of lasers are decent now. prices have come down so they are now popular and within reach of most people .I was going to say diy but I hate the word reminds me of a bloke and his wife and kids going down to b and q with a shopping trolley with small punterpacks of materials and a few new tools

I saw a Polish labourer ducking under the laser line on site once! Someone had told him it would burn if he crossed it......

I’d been looking at these too and picked this one up today on @mtt.tr recommendation - never used a laser level before apart from an old bubble type with a built in laser pointer. These things are the bees knees, putting up a stud wall against some really rough brickwork, so shims everywhere and this made it really easy, everything spot on. Ive got a few tripods for photography but I’d definitely recommend getting one if you haven’t. Thanks mtt

In the end I bought the magnusson one but never used it for its intended use, did work well when I tiled my bathroom though. it was one of the things that got stolen along with all my work tools so I've since replaced it with a very cheap(£10 including tripod) one from ebay, not used it but it does look as cheap as it was.

edit, just bought the screwfix one as at £25 its a bargain.

I had to upgrade to the green one recently as I needed it for some outdoor stuff, I was going to sell the red one but the green one let me down a bit, not as clear as I expected. Will probably keep them both.

I was wanting to do a yard outside. I figured I'd set up the levels in the evening when the light had started to fade.
