Laser Cutting Mylar

The other half is wanting to get a stencil cut in Mylar so she can paint some hearth tiles in high temp paint. She's ordered a wee hot cutter but I think laser CNC cutting might work better. Does anyone have any experience with this and can recommend someone who does it?

Design is quite intricate and is 150mm square.

You could try a sign shop I cut masking with a vinyl cutter, I have cut letters as small as 2mm.
Infact I have a full stop on something I masked and it must be less than a mm square.
I have some masking film left, I might be able to cut them out for you.
Here's something I masked, it's around 35mm wide.

If she is going to try cutting mylar by hand suggest she goes to an art shop and asks for a
friskar swivel knife, I think they are about 3 quid for one with a pack of spare blades, the
blade rotates so you just draw around the shape you want to cut. It's much easier than
cutting with a scalpel.

There are a few types of Mylar. I am guessing you are speaking of thick plastic type. She might be better using sandblast screen. A lot of this type of stuff will need a servo based cutter as it will most likely need a 2 or 3 pass cut to go through.
