I've got fusion but the computer is so slow and I think with the student version they've throttled back the performance. It's almost unworkable.

Interesting..was not aware of that. Having said that I have have had the education version for 6 years and then they tightened up the eligibility and I have been forced back to personal now.

You might have to think a little about the tabs. I do not think linear scaling will work well with them: as the thickness changes, the slot size changes but as the width changes, it does not. Similarly, if you double the length, you do not have the same number of tabs, just stretched. You keep the tabs the same size and have more of them.

Hole size will surely be constant whatever the table size as you do not want different clamps for each table size.

If you are to parameterise it, it is less pain to do a full job from the beginning than half and half. As it is a 2D dxf, it could be done as a Python script instead of the STL from OpenSCAD.

Is there anything to consider on sheet size? If a stock sheet is 2.5 x 1.25, can you get a table that size from it? Are the edges acceptably straight and the sheet square from the stockholder? Can you throw the sheet onto the laser table and dial it in to the machine's axes? Most cutting I have seen never keeps any edge of the parent sheet.

How much cad experience do you have?

The beauty is that alterations after scaling are not a real hardships

I did. Beautiful pieces those. He said there was dozens in a building, i think he paid a few hundred each if I remember correctly.

Fusion is all about graphics card performance. They use DirectX as an API so you need a decent gaming graphics card.
A workstation card like an Nvidia Quadro will not help as it using OpenGL.

I run a GTX1070 in my Fusion machine and it files.
