...The lever at the front moves the flywheels left and right. Depending on which one is in contact with the rubber tyred drive wheel it either spins the main screw clockwise or anti-clockwise.
I did think it was excessive for cutlery!The tooling looks tiny for such a big press!
On a side note im amazed they are still fitting multi fuel stoves with all the green shouting going on!
Thanks for adding that. It looked like both flywheels were in contact with the rubber, which would stop it working at all.
Also note that the gear ratio changes as the ram lowers: with it at the top of its stroke, it is lower geared than when at the bottom, so the ram will accelerate towards the bang and decelerate towards the top.
The ram looks to interact with its operating mechanism, so it might automatically put it into neutral at the top of the stroke.
Hands up anybody who doesn't wish they had the space for one of those....
